The Salesians are a religious order in the Catholic Church dedicated to nurturing young people. Saint John Bosco (1815-1888) founded the congregation in 1859 which included priests and brothers. In 1872 he along with Saint Mary Mazzarello founded the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians known as the Salesian Sisters. Today the order includes over 40,000 members in 120 countries.
St. John Bosco and St. Mary Domenica were friends of the young. St. John Bosco said, "It is enough that you are young for me to love you." With this devotion a Salesian education is encapsulated in the philosophy of reason, religion and loving kindness. With that guiding the administration, faculty, and staff, Immaculate Conception School focuses on educating the whole child. This holistic approach transcends the boundaries of the classroom to include the entire school, home, the church, and the playground.
