Caring Acts and Kindness (CAKE) during
the Coronavirus Pandemic
It is during uncertain and stressful times, like the one we are now experiencing, that random acts of kindness may become more meaningful to ourselves and those around us. Kindness has been scientifically proven to have emotional and physical benefits for the person doing the kind act, the person receiving the kind act, and others that witness the kind act.
How many times our hearts are warmed by hearing about others who are going the extra mile to be sure that others who are more vulnerable are getting what they need!
Loving Kindness is a core value of our Salesian identity which we strive to show and grow among each other. It is with this spirit during Monday morning school assemblies, the Charger Caring Kids Club would read aloud caring acts which ICS students and faculty noticed, wrote about, and placed in CAKE jars in each classroom.
As part of our effort to continue our ICS Salesian spirit in our home learning environment, we are providing a way through technology to write down, collect, and announce caring acts which we are noticing in our lives.
