The 1980's

The 1980’s saw the need to divide the Mother Province of the Salesian Sisters in the United States into two provinces. God had blessed the life and ministry of the Salesian Sisters, and it was time to give birth and to let go. The formation of Mary Immaculate Province, while life-giving and exciting, created a deep sense of loss for the Sisters of the founding province. But, these consecrated women knew their mission, refounded themselves, moved together smaller, but stronger, in the service of the young echoing the words of Mary at the Magnificat, “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord!”
